FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY SCALE THE COURSE?
Juniors enjoy golf more when they have a fair chance to succeed. Making a new golfer or young player play a course that’s too long not only hurts their score, but it also damages the chance they’ll want to come back, And prevents them from loving the game. We scale each hole to a distance fair for kids to play, allowing opportunities to make legitimate birdies and pars for every player. The ability to score well early has a cognitive component, increasing enjoyment and confidence in both the short term and long term development. Many top players on professional tours acknowledge that the ability to score well as junior players on scaled courses gave them the mindset to continue to do so as they started to play longer distances.
ARE CADDIES ALLOWED?
Caddies are mandatory in the 4th and 5th grade division. Caddies are allowed in the 6th & 7th grade division.

RAINOUTS AND INCLEMENT WEATHER
Cat Tour will try to play all events to the conclusion. We will play in wet, cold, and rain unless lightning or sever weather is in the near forecast. In the event the participants need to evacuate the course, tournament officials and host facility will sound an air horn. Once the horn has sounded you must stop play. Wherever you are on the course, mark your ball, and we will try to finish the round. If an event is shortened due to rain there will be no refunds or credits issued.
USGA Rules will govern all play. If the group can not establish a ruling and there is no rules official nearby, we ask you to play two balls and a ruling will be administered in the scoring area. Competitors need to announce that you are playing two balls and which ball you wish to count if the rule allows. Please do not sign scorecards until a ruling has been made official.
